Grandma's here!

Miriam wrote this story about clocks at school on Tuesday and was so proud when her teacher read it aloud during math time (I guess they're learning about time right now):

Clocks help us tell time. Time is when something is going to happen. Like today my grandma is coming. In the morning it was only 8 hours until 4:30. That is when...

...my grandma's plane is still in the sky. Now it is only 4 hours and 9 minutes. Time also helps us tell when you wake up and get ready for school...

The last page said something about kids having to wake up at 4:00 in the morning to get ready for school, but I think that's a bit of an exaggeration on Miriam's part (though we have been discussing our switch to an earlier start time for next school year...ugh).

Anyway, Grandma is here! Her plane landed around 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon.

And then Daddy flew to Atlanta around noon on Wednesday.

So it's just Grandma and me and the kids (who are on spring break).

Yesterday Grandma took the kids to the park (and then to Pelican's) for a couple of hours while Zoƫ and I slept off one of those scream-until-three-in-the-morning kind of nights. It was so nice (and certainly not something I would have been able to do even if Daddy was here (because he would have still gone to work)) so we're super happy that Grandma's here!
