It was still in its unopened box, a Sears purchase. We had a Sears catalog outlet store in town, not a whole Sears store, just a place where you sent off and picked up catalog orders. The new teflon frying pan in its box must have been accidentally placed with the empty boxes (pre-recycling) and dumped with them.
