For some reason I had never realized it was privately owned, but it was.

I climbed the falls (just to the lower level) with my aunt and cousin once when I was visiting Utah and I don't remember it being particularly taxing of a hike. However, shortly after we moved here we had some visitors come down and we took them to go hike at the falls. Their little boy decided to climb down the falls rather than hike down the trail and he ended up slipping and falling quite some ways (I remember it was pretty scary watching him flip and flop down the falls) but he hopped up when he stopped and said, "I'M OKAY!"

I guess there's about one death per year there, so...

Interesting. Also, this article about the Nunn brothers. Who knew!?!

And yes, my dad was working at a hotel during the incident with the Chinese exchange student and host dad died (2016), I believe.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08631734965938273438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-49132369285335497532018-03-11T16:25:09.232-04:002018-03-11T16:25:09.232-04:00Bridal Veil falls has been privately owned until l...Bridal Veil falls has been privately owned until last summer when Utah County bought it. They have closed the trail to make improvements because yes two people died last year and there are/have been multiple other deaths and rescues on the trail. Granted I never knew it was a trail I just thought you looked at the falls but the trail (or something kind of like a trail) goes up way higher. Don't ever take kids on it I hate climbing on it as an adult. They seem to open the trail and then close it sporadically so I'm not sure what they are doing now. I feel like I remember your mom talking about how your dad was working up there when that happened.
