History in the Making

It's very well possible that we just made history. Two facts: 1) we live in Cairo and 2) we completed our to-do list today. Never before have those two facts co-existed.

When we got home from running all our errands and started checking things off on our to-do list, Andrew got very excited when we realized that we'd beaten all odds.

"I can't believe it!" he said, "We got everything done on our to-do list! I think this is the first time in Cairo's history that someone's been able to get everything done!"

I figured that we wouldn't make it into any history textbooks or into the Guinness Book or anything, so I thought I'd make it part of our family history. For the first time in Cairo we went out and ran errands and finished doing all of them in one day. I'm not sure whether to attribute that to the end of Ramadan or sheer luck...

We went grocery shopping, which included stopping at the bread store, visiting the fruit stand, and finding the Seoudi's Market that is closest to our house. We picked up some household things at the hardware store and at Moudy's. Andrew set up the internet (we should have internet officially in 3 days, الحمد لله). I made an FHE chart. And we custom-ordered shelves for the big, shelfless cabinet we have sitting in our dining room.

Our to-do list wasn't big, but we never make very big to-do lists here. We don't want to push our luck.
