Uncle George also served in WWII, with I think the Scottish Highlanders or the Canadian Scottish Regiment or something like that. I know that, even though he died in the US, there were Canadian Scottish pipers to play the military salute at his grave site. Does that say something horrible about me? But when he reenlisted to get a rejection but actually got accepted well it just was one of those horrible ironic twist of fates and I had to laugh. I had a step grandfather who was rejected because he had rheumatic fever as a boy. He eventually did die of a heart attack but I think it had more to do with the fact that he weighed almost 400lbs and he also was in his late 60s. I had a grandfather in the military who slowly drank himself to death after he came home. I have another step grandpa who was too young for world war II but out by the time Korea really came into full swing. I guess he would consider himself a lucky one. I have a great grandpa who had to change his name after the Mexican Revolution because he sided with the wrong side. It seems like those were hard times for men of that generation. Everyone either fought in a war or had a family member who did and so few of them came back the same :(Glendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17452404148287263021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-20682880537508497502013-11-12T07:30:56.923-05:002013-11-12T07:30:56.923-05:00I enjoyed reading some of your family history.
