She'd come measure his head every few days to make sure it wasn't swelling from his traumatic delivery. That was the way things rolled in B.C. I don't know if they still do. The home health nurse came and brought Josie her little B.C. book to record her height and weight and her immunizations, and visited with me about breast feeding, etc. She only came a couple of times, but I could have had her more often if I needed her. And remember, in B.C. if a child was sick late at night with a fever or some thing, the home visit doctors would come. Now THAT was civilization!
