Sounds like things are going well! That is ...Nancy! Sounds like things are going well! That is so awesome that Benjamin is nursing! I wish that producing too much milk was a "problem" for me...although I'm sure it is painful!! I did not have a 'happy' nursing experience with Paisley, so with Benson I have been so paranoid that he's not getting enough...but his weight gain would suggest otherwise! I hope things keep going well for you guys!
P.S. I LOVE his hair!! It looks oh so soft!!Irish'n'Karley Lilburnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03199643607854370060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-48521976006709373762012-06-21T10:07:34.277-04:002012-06-21T10:07:34.277-04:00Oh, and kudos to you for tandem nursing. Fortunately (I think) my period hasn't returned until after I've weaned so I think my body and I are on the same page with the idea of only feeding one baby at a time.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08631734965938273438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-54465232059381484172012-06-21T09:56:43.010-04:002012-06-21T09:56:43.010-04:00My girls love the cabbage leaf look. Tandem nursing a two-year-old and then having a new baby wreaked havoc on my supply. I had two giant watermelons on my chest before we even left the hospital. And then every time she tried to nurse they literally exploded. It took about 3 weeks of pumping before nursing and having cabbage leaves on constantly for it to decrease.Caitlin Carrollhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18417848115673458546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-72905031351145330462012-06-21T07:28:05.882-04:002012-06-21T07:28:05.882-04:00Just so you know there is a meat locker place in S...Just so you know there is a meat locker place in Salem Utah. I rented a box there and stored my milk there. I tried to donate my milk, but I was on medicine and they don't want anything at all in the milk besides maybe an advil. But it didn't seem too hard beyond that except for trying to keep it from thawing while getting it to the hospital.

I made a fair amount of milk too, not quite your levels though. But I remember the lactation people suggested mint or something to help reduce but not kill the milk supply. You might want to ask about that. I also found that I got a huge jump in my supply when Joshua started nursing because I would got after the nursing and pump out of habit. I had to learn to not pump the side he just nursed, or if I did, pump it just a little.

I am glad you have family there to help with your girls. I can't imagine having a not first child in the NICU.Karaleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18315094505422057490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-39945201514260685342012-06-21T00:53:21.329-04:002012-06-21T00:53:21.329-04:00BA ha ha ha ha!!! Feed all the babies. I love you ...BA ha ha ha ha!!! Feed all the babies. I love you Nancy. And if you can feed all the babies I vote go there and do that (unless it's a big fat pain and ruins your life). It sounds like you're both doing really well though. And I have all the confidence in the world in you.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10650216689414959056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33624978.post-73838139831277763352012-06-20T21:49:35.565-04:002012-06-20T21:49:35.565-04:00I was making tons of milk last year when I was pum...I was making tons of milk last year when I was pumping for Henry. It took work and was a little painful but I was able to cut down by just not pumping til even half empty. I would only fill the nicu's little bottles (one for each side) and then stop. Sometimes that was barely enough to take the edge off but it seemed to work after a few days. Good luck!Emilynoreply@blogger.com
