Last night we were talking about everything that needed to happen today and who would need help doing what. We told Rachel she could drive herself to the dentist, but she was hesitant because she hasn't driven for several months. We told her we believed in her and that it was time for us all to be getting to bed.
"I think I want to have a shower," Rachel said.
"Do you want me to come with you for emotional support?" Miriam asked.
"Whaaat?" I asked, and everyone started laughing.
"What?" Miriam asked before it finally dawned on her. "TO THE DENTIST! Do you want me to be your emotional support person at the dentist?"
That was a pretty clear indicator that it was, indeed, time to go to bed.
We had to be up and out of the house relatively early to get Zoë off to the doctor for her COVID vaccine (our clinic wasn't able to administer them when I took Zoë in for her appointment). And then Rachel left for her appointment while we were still gone.
Phoebe woke up and was quite surprised to find Rachel was here—she had gone to bed under the impression that Rachel was coming home this evening. It was a happy surprise.
Now Zoë is vaxxed, Rachel is getting her teeth cleaned.
And just for my records, I also got my flu and COVID shots (finally) on Tuesday. Miriam came with me as an emotional support person.

Yay, glad you have Rachel home for the holidays!
