Ella's chair and cutting with scissors

As promised, here are some pictures of the adaptive chair Phoebe made to help Ella be able to join her friends at the table. 

You can also see that the bat has a bag of peanuts, the blonde baby has a pot of honey, and Ella has a cup with a straw. Phoebe likes to think through all the ways she can help Ella enjoy everything her friends without limb differences can do.

And, as a bonus, here are some pictures of Phoebe (a left-handed child) trying to use right-handed scissors to cut some yarn into itty-bitty pieces that she left on the carpet. She said she needed them for a "project."

I told Uncle Patrick that I had a hunch that the project was cutting the yarn. He just finished submitting all his work for his PhD so is still thinking very scientifically. He wrote back saying:

Question: Can you cut yarn into small pieces with right handed scissors as a left handed person?

Answer: yes

Whether her project was to leave small bits of yarn all over the carpet or simply to exercise her fine motor skills...she certainly achieved her objectives (even if it left her a little cross-eyed).
