I neglected to get a picture of everyone wearing their green on St. Patrick's Day, but we were all sure to put on green first thing in the morning. St. Patrick's Day pinchers were out in full force that day!
It was pretty funny, though, because we kept forgetting why everyone was wearing green. At the dinner table Rachel remarked, "Hey! We're all wearing green today...oh."
Here's Zoƫ wearing a lovely green mustache:
Auntie K sent a bunch of St. Patrick's Day things years ago and we just get them out every year and enjoy them. I even brought our stash of headbands and hats to primary and had the primary kids wear them while singing wiggle songs.
While the kids were out taking Luna for a walk in the middle of the day, a sneaky leprechaun broke into the basement and left a trail of leprechaun gold behind for the kids to find. He would have left it outside, I'm sure, but it as terribly windy and he wanted to come in from the cold.
The kids each followed a trail of gold where they found a rainbow swirl sucker (lollipop) at the end—almost the reverse of "real life" where you find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Phoebe was so excited to eat her treat:
Also, since it's green I'll include Phoebe's play dough tree:
She and I busied ourselves outside during co-op (me doing writing and reading, her playing with all her toys and rocks and sticks and things). She stuck a woodchip into this lump of green play dough, called it a tree, demanded I (1) take her picture and (2) send it to Daddy. So I did.
It was so warm yesterday. And today it's a bit nippy once again. That's the way spring goes, I guess.
