When the moon hits your eye

We went to the beach this afternoon. Miriam watched the little kids while Benjamin and I swam (like, she really did watch them—she wasn't on her phone the whole time) and then went home to work on her application essays for college.

The rest of the kids and I played out the afternoon.

Benjamin had fun digging a hole:

Zoë, Phoebe and I made mermaids out of sand. Here's Zoë's:

And here is the one Phoebe and I made together (it's Phoebe-sized):

Here she is splashing off into the bay for a rinse off:

Zoë and I played surfminton again. I'm not sure we're getting any better yet, but we have fun!

Alexander built a ball out of sand and then built a wall around said ball:

The moon was rising as we were walking home and it was big and beautiful!
