Tired Phoebe

Phoebe loves her little chalkboards. She loves drawing on them. She loves erasing her drawings. She loves wiping them down with a wet cloth to get all the old chalk dust away. She (recently) loves sneaking into Daddy's office to retrieve his little air-blower keyboard-cleaning thing to dry her chalkboards off faster (she's only recently overcome her fear of that noise).

Here she is drawing our family (are her pants on inside out? Yes. Is she still wearing her pyjama top because she gave up trying to change out of it? Maybe so. But she's still adorable):

Having a family as big as ours gives her lots of practice drawing people! I thought this little face was particularly expressive:

She dressed herself today, from her head to her toes. She got stuck in her sweater for a minute, spinning around and around in circles as she tried to get her arm through that last pesky arm hole...but she did it!

She's had everything else down pat for a while now, but shirts were proving particularly difficult, so she felt rather triumphant today. It was such a beautiful afternoon that the kids spent most of it playing outside. They played until dinnertime. And then after dinner they went out again and played until bedtime.

Phoebe was pretty worn out when she came back inside.

We got all ready for bed and then gathered for scriptures and prayer. I told Phoebe that I would read one verse (a long one) and then it would be her turn. We read a portion of D&C 42, kind of a rehashing of the ten commandments.

"And again, I say..." I said.

"And again, I say..." Phoebe repeated.

"Thou shalt not kill..."

"Thou shalt not kill..."

"But he that killeth..."

"But he that killeth..."

"Shall die."

"I don't think..." Phoebe yawned, "I can say...that many...wooooooords...zzzzzz..."

And with that Phoebe was out like a light. She slept through the rest of scriptures. She slept through the prayer. She slept through me maneuvering myself out from underneath her. She slept while I carried her upstairs and tucked her into bed.

Here's Alexander giving her a little goodnight kiss (before the transfer-to-bed happened, obviously):
