I took the boys to the doctor (for well-child checks) first thing in the morning, leaving Andrew and all the girls sleeping away. The boys are growing great. Benjamin is 5'3" tall, only two inches shorter than Miriam (who seems to have plateaued) and precisely one foot taller than Alexander.
When we came home, Zoë was practicing the piano and Phoebe was setting up an elaborate game of "Bethlehem," with the ball at the very center representing baby Jesus.
Yesterday she asked Andrew if he would get the magnets out for her...and managed to build this pathetic creation before crawling over to the couch to burrow under a pile of blankets and rest.
She usually can play with magnets for ages, setting up elaborate neighbourhoods of houses and involving all sorts of story lines. But not yesterday. I suppose even that she thought that she could for a minute shows improvement. She hasn't really played since Thursday!
Today, though, she played for quite some time!

I folded that pile of clean towels and napkins and things while she narrated her little game. Even though her voice is a little ragged and she had to stop for a few coughing fits, it's wonderful to see her up and about!
