A gripping tale

"Oh, dear!" Phoebe cried, barreling up the stairs and crash-landing, completely out of breath, in my bedroom doorway. "This baby's family got on the boat to Qatar and left her behind! I just found her in the basement all alone! She is so scared! What do we do?!"

This story has all the trappings of a very dramatic novel.

I calmed Phoebe down and assured her that we would allow the baby to stowaway in our luggage so that we could reunite her with her family when they arrived.

Unfortunately, I gave away our dollhouse yesterday (it's just the standard dollhouse from IKEA so it isn't like it was especially meaningful) so this poor baby had limited housing options. Fortunately, I'd kept the homemade dollhouse Benjamin made for Zoë once upon a time and we gave Phoebe permission to decorate it as she saw fit.

She had a blast! (The boys are attending their online art class; Zoë is at the pool with a friend).

She thought of all kinds of details like putting a number on the house so people would know how to find it, drawing a heart on the wall so they baby would know it was still loved, and hanging (drawing) a picture right above the crib so the baby could look at it:

Crisis averted, the baby is well tended to, and reunification is in process...
