Miriam's last day (last week) and giving away the last of our food storage

Miriam had Andie and McKenna over on Thursday night (July 16) to play a few games and say goodbye. Tonight the kids are having a sleepover down there because that room is 100% empty (except for all the stuff the kids just dragged into it, I guess). After this picture was taken I made Andie and McKenna fill a box of food to take home to their families.

Phoebe still believes she knows how to make a peace sign with her fingers (she does not, but that's okay).

My sweet neighbour Janelle came by and took everything else from our leftover food supply. She is so good at asking the right questions and coming up with the perfect solution.

"I'm happy to take your extra things," she said and then burst into questions. "What's the deal here? Do you want me to come and take a few things that we'll use and leave the rest for you? Do you want me to take it all and redistribute as I see fit? Do you want me to come today? Do you want me to come closer to when you're leaving?"

I was like, "You are an angel...and I want everything gone...as soon as possible."

"Let me get my wagon," she said.

She sent me a picture of their dinner that night (made from things she'd taken from our house) and said that she was so excited for some things (like vinegar) to use in her science classroom and that she'll be donating some other things and that she'd be happy to take anything else that I just can't even deal with anymore (she's also very active on our Buy Nothing Group and I know she'll just post whatever she doesn't want).

And I am just so, so grateful for people like Janelle!
