Rachel submitted her last paper for her last BYU-Idaho class (and thus her last class for high school graduation) on Wednesday morning. That means she's now officially a high school graduate!
On Tuesday morning Andrew flew to Utah for a week-long workshop at Utah State University. He took along a suitcase of stuff Rachel will need when she moves out there...including this temperature blanket that she finally finished. She started it in 2023, and I believe she finished it in January of this year, so it took her about two years to finish. It's long!
But it should help keep her bed warm. It's hard to believe how quickly the days are slipping by before we ship this girl off to college...

ReplyDeleteOh, I am glad you added Rachel to the blanket so we'd see how TRULY long it is - wow! Is that the temperature of a certain place throughout a year - or how does that work?
Yes, I can't believe Rachel will be leaving the nest soon. Kind of makes me sad and I'm not even family, but I know that's how life is and it's normal.
It's cool that Andrew could already take some of her things out there already!
Thank you! Yes, she took the daily average of our home city for a full year and had a key for which colour to select for what temperature. So there are 365 rows—which makes for a long blanket!
DeleteIt was nice that he was able to take out a suitcase. She didn't think she'd have that much to send out beforehand...but we managed to fill the suitcase! Between the blanket, her winter coat and boots, and some kitchen gadgets she wanted...it filled up fast!
I was looking at the blanket wondering how big it was...and then when got Rachel for scale. That was awesome.
