Doha preview

It's hot today. For reference, wunderground.com tells me that it's 100°F here, with a "feels like" temperature of 115°F. So of course we had to go outside to feel what that feels like—just for reference.

Currently in Doha it's only 96°F (feels like 97°F). Of course, Doha is approaching midnight...so the comparison might not be entirely fair. Their low will be 91°F while ours will be 75°F (and we complain out here that we don't get cool evenings like Utah does—they're still dropping into the 50s at nights this week).

Ad you can see, the weather in Doha is rather consistently warm (turning into a convection oven on Tuesday next week):

While here in Georgia we have a bit more variation, a little more precipitation: 

Largely it seems like our highs are their lows. So that will certainly take some getting used to!

This morning we played at the pool after swim practice. Here's Phoebe showing off her expert starfish float—she can get into a back float all by herself now (though she still doesn't like floating on her back):

In the early afternoon we had a drawing date with some Doha friends! 

One of Andrew's colleagues has three kids who don't quite line up with our youngest four, but who fit in nicely between their ages. Benjamin has been playing Minecraft and chatting online with their oldest (who is a boy) and today we got the girls (and Alexander) together to chat and draw pictures (though Alexander soon escaped to play Star Dew Valley):

With any luck we'll end up in the same compound so the kids can play! Our friends said that one of their favourite things about living in Doha is that the pool is always open—I foresee a lot of pool days in our future!
