Baby Pool

With only 28 days until our baby is due, I thought it would be a good time to open up a baby pool. Not that we have any cool prizes or anything, but maybe* we’ll pick something  up (ie: random piece of tourist hud) for the winner at the Khan.

Feel free to leave a guess about Miriam’s arrival in a comment:
  • Date
  • Time
  • Length
  • Weight
Our estimated due date is October 27th.**

I’m looking forward to seeing Andrew’s guess. When Rachel was born he made up the birth announcement in advance and his filler text was almost spot on. Seriously. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with this time!

* We reserve the right to renege on a prize if we forget, which is likely.
**Also, anyone who guesses too far into November will be shunned for an indeterminate amount of time.

Ooh, I'm terrible at this! I thought Anda would be early and small. She was a week late, 8 1/2 pounds.

  8. @ David -- You would wish two such children on me? Meanie! Pity the day YOU start having kids!
@ Josie -- Good recovery. I almost had to shun you.
@ Lydia -- What have I told you about tuna fish?!
@ Rachel -- What did you do? Check out Rachel's stats before guessing?
@ Bridget -- Nothing interesting to say, but hi! Thanks for playing. :)
@ Vernon -- Thanks, I love math. Not.
    @ Sara -- Revisions welcome.

  9. So, if the baby is born in the morning there, which means it's the evening here, and you move back here, what should Miriam's birthday be that you celebrate here?

Here is the scenario: Andrew home from school, light dinner, bring Rachel to my house, go to the hospital, labor quickly and efficiently, have a sweet baby, sleep really well and then have the weekend to do a bit of adjusting before Andrew has to go back to school:)

  14. @ David -- We'll just keep her birthday the day and time she was born, without adjusting the time zone. We did that here for the rest of us...but then teased each other that it wasn't really our birthday yet. :)

@ Amiee -- I think that sounds like a great plan!

  15. I'm no good at guessing so I'll just spare myself the embarrassment. :) My due date is actually before yours by a good 4 days, but I have to admit - it's nice knowing she won't be any later than the 12th! C-sections are nice for that but that's about it. Recovery is a bit of a beast. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well! I can't wait to see pictures of Miriam!

  16. I'm not really bitter, Natalie. :) I can't wait to see pictures of Sophie, either! Next time we have kids at the same time ('cuz we seem to do that, apparently) can we plan it for spring instead of the middle of summer? Of course, I guess it's not the middle of summer for you there...

  17. I know you're not bitter - I'm just giving you a hard time! :) I feel very good about a spring baby! I've had two summer babies and now a Fall baby, I think it's time to switch up the seasons a bit. For now I'm thinking Spring 2012 when Lewis finished his MBA...assuming he gets in first. :) How do you feel about that? :)

I thought of it being Friday morning so that you would have the streets all to yourself (in case you decide to take a taxi) that way the baby is born in the hospital not in the taxi/metro :)

  19. Thanks, Mirza! :) We definitely don't want a taxi/metro baby!
