Mashing bananas is probably one of my least favourite tasks, so now that Rachel is old enough to do it for me making banana bread just got awesome.
She was happy to be helping and I was happy not to be mushing bananas.
When we bake we push one of the benches from the table over to the counter. Every other time we've baked together Miriam has been happy to wander around the kitchen, wreaking havoc in the lower cupboards. Today, however, she was pining to be part of the action so I lifted her onto the bench with Rachel. It made me a little nervous but she was as happy as a clam.
It's nice to know that my girls can get along well enough that they can stand side by side on a bench without either one pushing the other off. Some days I wonder if they'll ever learn to be kind to each other...and then I get a day like today and I know that one day, one day, they will.
