Easter Finery

Last night after bath time I put the girls' hair up in curlers. I did Miriam's up in rag curls and Rachel's up in foam curlers. They were both a little nervous about how things would turn out in the morning but I think they both loved having curly hair for a day (even Rachel, my self-proclaimed tomboy (I'm constantly trying to convince her that it's okay to be rough'n'tumble and also get dolled up every now and then).

We didn't do Easter dresses this year. The girls wanted to wear the ones they wore in September of 2010 (which they wrongly remembered as their Easter dresses). It took quite a while to convince them that those dresses wouldn't fit them anymore. And then even more time to convince them that even the dress that Rachel was wearing wouldn't fit Miriam (because I already packed it away in the too-small bin).

So instead Rachel picked out an outfit for herself and even let Miriam borrow one of her dresses. It fit Miriam so well that it might be time to pass it down officially but this week it was only borrowed.

Their curls turned out beautifully. Their outfits were lovely. And we even managed to wrangle Benjamin into a suit.

  1. Aw, great photos! The outfits are cute, and the curls are awesome! Did you curls your hair, too? :)

I love seeing the girls so little...precious.

By the way, is your banner photo from last Easter? I always enjoy seeing that one when I visit your blog.

Hope y'all had a wonderful day!

    1. Hi Susanne!

I didn't curl my hair. In fact, I'm pretty sure we left for church with my hair half wet. :)

And, yes, the photo is from last Easter. I'm glad you like it. I'm really not too fond of it as a picture of ME but everyone else looks great so I'll live with it for a while longer.

I hope you had a lovely Easter, too. Sounds like you got a fun new (expected) surprise!
