GRE

The end of the semester is finally upon us! Andrew had his last day of classes today and will be finished his finals by next Thursday. This semester has been so crazy--I can't believe it's finally over!

Now he only has one semester left before we do...something.

He's back leaning towards grad school. We really want to go to the American University in Cairo. We just found the blog of an LDS couple who recently moved to Cairo. That got us all excited about it. We'll be filling out the application soon...and crossing our fingers for a scholarship. Who knows? It could happen.

We've also begun studying for the GRE. Andrew signed up for January 2nd--hopefully we have enough time to prepare for it. Andrew purchased a prep book a while back but only yesterday did he really start studying. I did a few questions with him. It doesn't look so hard. One day I'll have to take it, too, and I need all the help I can get.

Now we just have to choose some more schools and get all the applications in by the beginning of January.

So much for a relaxing Christmas break...ho, hum.

Andrew's excited about the research he's been doing though and wants to continue it. I say, if he's excited about it, go for it!

I'm also looking forward to perhaps knowing where we'll be going by the time Andrew graduates. That would be nice. It's kind of stressful knowing we need to be doing something like school or work but not having any clue what that is.

***Note: When I say "we" I mostly mean just Andrew. He signed up for the GRE. He'll be applying to grad schools. He's doing most of the studying. I'm just the helper-person. For now.

  1. Nancy I'm sure when you choose to take the GRE you'll do great although if you are anything like me you may have to review the math a bit. Hello I feel like if you haven't had to use something since junior high you should not be tested on it...oh well.

  2. I know what you mean about being the 'helper person'. I Remember hours spent double checking the lists and making sure Joe had all his 'stuff' in all the right packets for all the different schools (we applied to 7 I think). It was exciting but also annoying to not know where you're going to be 6 months or a year from now. Good luck with all that stuff!!!

  3. You're totally allowed to use "we." I do it all the time and it's the truth. He's not doing it by himself :).

  4. Oh, and I feel your pain about the uncertainty of the future. We still have no idea where we'll be this summer. Who are these guys we married?!? Sometimes I want to be normal like everyone else, but then I realize that I actually do prefer it this way. It's so much fun to go different places!
