You would think that my psyche would be able to come out of a silly little internet quiz unscathed, but it can't. You see, I've always enjoyed writing. I got A's on most of my papers in college and even helped my mom write her prospectus for her dissertation. She's let me edit parts of her dissertation. I edit plenty of Andrew's papers. I write all the time, so I was a little miffed when I did a readability quiz and my results were this:
I was like, "Oh, great. I write at a Junior High level and I'm thinking of attempting grad school?!?"
So I was sad. Andrew wasn't online all day, so I couldn't turn to him to boost my ego. Instead I talked with my mom.
"Mom!" I whined, "I feel stupid. I want you to tell me that I'm not."
So she did. She's a good mom.
We decided that since it's at a junior high level, it's just more readable and easy to enjoy. College level writing is typically boring--which, for the most part, I'll believe.
Still I was a little perplexed, so after I wrote a post for The Mother's Lounge, I had just that post rated and this time my results were so much more gratifying.
So I guess I just cover the whole spectrum. Man, I'm smrt.
